BOSTON GLOBE: A Sanders fan — with support from all over

By Stephanie Ebbert GLOBE STAFF  AUGUST 25, 2016

It’s not every day you see Bernie Sanders’s name in the same sentence with Evan Falchuk and former Republican US Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez. So today’s your lucky day.

Their common link is Keri Thompson, a not-long-ago Sanders delegate who is now running for state representative with the United Independent Party that Falchuk founded.

Thompson, one of the fledgling party’s few candidates, is running a write-in campaign to fill the seat left vacant by Garrett Bradley, a Hingham Democrat who resigned at the beginning of August. She’s also a neighbor of Gomez, the Cohasset resident who ran unsuccessfully against Edward J. Markey for US Senate seat in 2013.

“We endorse her, @GomezForMA endorses her. She’s a former Bernie Sanders delegate — what a combination!”the United Independent Party tweeted recently, with a photo of the three strange campaign-fellows.
